Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to say “I love you” than with Valentine’s Cake Bites? These fun, bite-sized treats are perfect for those moments when cupcakes are too much and cookies just don’t feel special enough. They’re easy to make, absolutely adorable, and deliciously sweet—perfect for your loved ones! 🍫🍰
Chocolate and Love—A Perfect Pair ❤️🍫
There’s something special about chocolate and Valentine’s Day. Chocolate speaks the language of love in a way that no other treat can. These Valentine’s Cake Bites are rich, chocolatey, and topped with a delicate pink buttercream frosting—making them the ultimate expression of love!
Bite-Sized Perfection 🍰
These cake bites are small enough to satisfy your sweet tooth without being overwhelming. Plus, they’re so fun and easy to eat! Whether you’re hosting a party or enjoying a cozy night in, they’re the perfect sweet snack.
Step 1: Bake the Cake
We started with a Duncan Hines Classic Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix and poured the batter into a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes to settle, then bake it in a 350-degree oven for 20 minutes.
Step 2: Cool & Cut 🍫💗
Once the cake is baked, let it cool and remove it from the cookie sheet. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out bite-sized hearts from the cake.
We used a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out our cake bites. We found this set of Heart Cookie Cutters here .
Step 3: Buttercream Frosting Magic 🧁
Make a batch of our Best Buttercream Frosting and color it pink with a tiny drop of Americolor Super Red food coloring. Smooth a generous layer of frosting on each cake bite.
Make a batch of our Best Buttercream Frosting. It is super easy to make and so very delicious. You can find the recipe and detailed instructions here. We colored our frosting pink using 1 very small drop of Americolor Super Red food coloring. You don’t need very much food coloring at all – too much and you’ll have red instead of pink.
Using a knife we smoothed on a generous layer of frosting to the top of the cake bite.
And finally we added some Valentine’s Day sprinkles to our Valentines Cake Bites.
They are so pretty and tasted equally yummy!
Step 4: Sprinkle Some Love 💕
Top each frosted cake bite with cute Valentine’s Day sprinkles to give them a festive, fun look.
These Valentine’s Cake Bites are perfect for a school party, a Valentine’s dinner dessert, or just a sweet treat for your family. If you’re hosting a party, you can make them ahead of time and store them in the fridge. Just be sure to keep them in an airtight container to prevent the cake from drying out.
If you want to get creative, you can easily switch up the cake flavors and frosting colors. Red velvet, vanilla, or even strawberry cake would be great alternatives. You can also go for different sprinkle designs to match the theme of your celebration.
